Our Spiritual Spaces
A natural sanctuary for God's people. That's St. Columba. With more than 145 acres, you'll discover plenty of peaceful spaces to fulfill your spiritual needs and sooth your soul.
Take a walk through the woods and commune with God and nature. Stretch your legs and let your mind roam worry-free as you stroll along one of several walking paths and trails.
Or stop, relax and simply breath—taking time to meditate at our outdoor chapel or stay overnight at one of our private hermitages. Please take time to visit us.
Located adjacent to Van Der Horst Pavilion, this outdoor labyrinth allows visitors to facilitate prayer, meditation and spiritual transformation using this ancient tool. The path leads to the center in which the guest will be in front of our outdoor altar...or the guest can turn around to reveal a spectacular view of a vast meadow.
Stations of the Cross
An outdoor "Stations of the Cross" offers guests the soul-stirring opportunity to meditate on the last 24 hours of the life of Jesus Christ. The cycle of 14 meditations may be experienced alone or as part of group worship.
An altar is placed a short distance away for reflection after completing all stations.
The Outdoor Altar at Van Der Horst
This serene and wooded worship space with a large wooden cross adjoins the Van Der Horst pavillion. It is a beautiful spot for a small outdoor wedding.
Space is also available for individual Silent Retreats in one of two fully self-contained Hermitages, St. Aidans and St. Margarets. Hermitage rates are by donation, availability is sporadic. Call for more information or use the registration form to make a reservation.
